Whats your version of GoldMine, and what backend is it using? That expression may or may not work, depending on your version.

Where are you trying to run this filter?  In GM's filter system?

Filters only filter contact1 and contact2 data (and can be made to look at ampersand-macros like &emailaddress that return a one-to-one related data-piece if you really work at it)

They do NOT provide any ability to look at one-to-many items like history.  The reason the conthist value was working for you in the expression tester is probably that you were on a conthist record on the history tab at the time.

What data are you after?  All history created in the last day?  Go to View|Activity list and then to the REAL TIME tab.  You can right-click to wrangle the date range (ALL DATES wouldn't be a good idea since that would then attempt to load up ALL history in one list and could become a performance nightmare for you.)
