Help!

I have installed a new system at a new site. GMPE 8.02.80208 on SQL, laptops also on SQL Express.

All working perfectly (including GISMO) but major problems with the templates stored in Word and Excel.

On board (demo) templates will run and merge, but new and user created templates will not save. Error message is [Microsoft Word]_SaveDoc Error: 4120: Bad Parameter.

It will not allow you to create a new template and save using the GM 'Save as a GoldMine Template' menu (same error). Existing templates will not resave.

Any thoughts/advice/comments gratefully received! Thanks in advance

Katie

Hi Katie,

If you just open word and chose Save As.. will you get the error aswell?

Check the user.ini files under the [GoldMine] section there weill be a row called
AttachDir= template directory on your server. Make sure the path is correct.

If there is no AttachDir= check the master.ini for the AttachDir= as the user.ini will then look at the master.ini.

This was resolved when I reset the macro settings (now in the Trust Center) but I am still getting an error across all machines - when users close a Word document (even if it wasn't anything to do with GoldMine) Word hangs, and will not close.

Also one user is getting problems with Excel crashing out.

Also, templates will not save with a user who runs Adobe Professional on the same machine (which also plugs in to Word). This always used to be a problem in older versions, but I am hoping that these days users will not have to choose between working with GoldMine templates and/or other applications they are required to use.

Just to confirm: workstations are Windows XP, Office 2007 Small Biz Edition, GoldMine 8.02 with workstation install.

Thanks
