Good morning.
I am using GMP 8.03 with its integrated e-mail program, which works fine. Which are the eventual advantages in using outlook instead?

Hey Claudio,

Our experience with the Outlook link (GISMO) is that it suits organizations who are in a Microsoft exchange email environment and can not enable POP3/IMAP for Goldmine users. The advantage over Goldmine's email client is that it is more user-friendly and can maintain a separation between personal and professional accounts and emails. While Goldmine can do this as well, it just doesn't end up having the same balance.

GISMO is a drop in solution for those unwilling to change.

I find the main advantage of using the Outlook Link is that it is handy for users that are already used to using Outlook, and who are not really prepared to learn a new email client.

I also recommend using the Outlook Link if the majority of emails recieved by the user are not from clients in GoldMine and are not going to be linked into GoldMine. I find GoldMine is geared to link all incoming emails, and it will try to do this by default, which can be irritating if only 1 email in 20 is going to get linked. With the Outlook Link, you can use Outlook as normal and only link emails into GoldMine as you see fit.

The main disadvantage of using the Outlook Link is that it cannot be used for email marketing and mass mailing, which is one if the main features of the GoldMine email center.
